Street and Smith O-line ratings

Just bought their annual guide today for some reading material. They rate it out of five stars but I've changed it to actual grades (A-F). I've upgraded or downgraded the lines if I think they over or underrated them and posted a comment why.

Patriots: B
Jets: C
Bills: C
Dolphins: D (F - Dolphins are one of the 3 worst in the league)
Steelers: B
Ravens: C
Bengals: B
Browns: C (D - Browns line is pretty bad even after adding Andruzzi)
Colts: B (A - James had 1,500 yards and Manning's jersey was pristine all year)
Jags: B
Texans: C
Titans: C (D - loss of Fred Miller hurts alot)
Broncos: B (A - not many elite lines in league, Broncos are still one of them)
Charges: C
Chiefs: A
Raiders: B
Eagles: B
Giants: C (D - Barber made them look much better)
Cowboys: C
Redskins: C (B - Redskins have excellent line after adding Rabach and getting Jansen back from last year's achilles injury)
Vikings: C
Packers: B (C - Packers lost 2 of their 3 best linemen in Rivera and Wahle)
Lions: C
Bears: C (B - Bears line very underrated wherever I look: Tait, Brown, Kreutz, Garza, and Miller are all really pretty good)
Atlanta: C
Panthers: C
Saints: C
Bucs: F
Seahawks: B
Rams: C
Cardinals: D (C - weren't too bad last year and have added Ross)
49ers: C

I think the Steelers should be more of a A- entering camp, however once they get some of the usual injuries they could end up in the C/D range

Dolphins line was horrendous last year. With some real coaching in there this year...Hudson Houck...they will end up at a C.

i agree with your A grade on indi. whenever i watch their games, there isnt much pressure on manning (but of course his really good fake handoffs help)

Giants: C (D - Barber made them look much better)

Funny how people selectively criticize the Giants OL. They weren't a great unit by any stretch last year but not as bad as you'd like to suggest. A back doesn't gain 1500 yards despite his OL. And I'm sure the remarkable drop in sacks after Warner was benched was all coincidence too.

C is accurate.

Tomlinson was able to with a terrible line a few years back.

Tomlinson led the NFL in total yardage despite I think his entire starting offensive line (which was bad to begin with in 03) being on IR. Barber did make those guys look better, but NY has gotten some upgrades and that line has improved.

Fair point about Tomlinson but I'll stand by my opinion that that unit was unfairly maligned last year. The Giants OL did a hell of a job run-blocking IMO.

Appropriate grades for the most of them--although I will say that the bears should receive a B at the least. They have a very good line, and it'll show this season.
