Large league pitfalls question

Team balance is what people I've spoken to in my league are mainly afraid of with 14 teams. We normally use a serpentine draft but it seems as though this may really hurt the people on the ends.

I wouldn't worry too much. Particularly with an IDP format, you can kick off some pretty nasty runs drafting first and last.

In the end, it's a matter of taste: some people will love being on the ends, others will hate it. If some folks in your league are worried about this, why not allow people to trade draft positions? There are bound to be at least two guys who'd be more than happy to be on the ends.

As far as the playoffs, we took 8 teams. I believe that first and second of each division got in and then it went off of records and down through tie-breakers. The season turned out to be really tight. During the playoffs were the only time that teams could have the same players. There were no real problems with this. It seems to test out the depth of the best teams. (Of course I would say this sense I won my first Championship )

One thing to note is that you should make sure that the website you use supports multiple division in this fashion. We used rtsports and it worked well at keeping divison stats seperate while still keeping the overall league stats.
