yep yep... definately cant disagree there.

depth in the 2ndary is VERY improtant (ask the niners). RW isnt a shut down #1 guy, but he is a more than servicable CB and the giants have done well with this pickup

His cover skills are a serious questionmark - hes a below avg cover corner and an average at best return man.

Now, I agree that adding him for depth to any team would be a positive. Since the Giants needed secondary depth, then its good that they got him.

However - it all comes down to money. How much did he sign for?
When the Lions brought him in to DET for talks, that had to have been the main sticking point, so I question whther this was a good signing or not because we havent seen what he signed for. He would have been a backup CB used in nickle schemes and a backup return man if Drummond went down, so paying him much more than 1.5x the league minimum wouldnt have been that wise.

I want to see more details about the contract before I say if this was a good signing or not.

This guy was the 4th best CB on the Bears and is basically a kick returner, but he asked for #1 or #2 CB money. How much did the Giants pay him? I want to see how "good" this signing really is.

yeah its weird cause i can find no other confirming sources that he signed.

i have, however, found soures saying he is still looking for a team...

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins are not expected to land free agent CB R.W. McQuarters (Bears). He is expected to sign with one of four other teams he has met with. The Dolphins are offering a relatively small contract for McQuarters. As previously reported, McQuarters has met with Detroit, Washington, the New York Giants and Minnesota.
