This guy is way better than LJ Shelton. I would be very happy if he signed on with the Niner's..

I agree that he is better than Shelton but would you pay Verba a long-term 40 million dollar contract for a guy that is 31 years old, has only played one of the last two seasons, and is a distraction both on and off the field. And if you arent' sure about his off the field distractions, I've personally seen him drunk as piss plenty of times at a local bar and he was just recently under the investication of holding sex parties with underage drinking at his place.

i wouldnt be so quick to say that. not only is he arrogant in thinking his ability is way more than it really is, shelton is yonger and a natural tackle. verba is a natural guard, if i am not mistaken, which may have been part of the reason he sucked in CLE...

Verba is such an idiot for thinking he's any good...he was the only OL to start all 16 games last year and he thought for some reason that he deserved a big payday for it. I don't care who you are, but if you're part of the worst OL in the league, I suggest you sit down, shut up, and take whatever payday they give you instead of being a greedy tool...

As far as Shelton, he may not be great, but he's a decent replacement in the interim...although Cleveland's line will be "rebuilding" for the next 3 years, Shelton should keep the line in order so long as he doesn't get hurt (but let's be fair, this is Cleveland...everybody on the OL gets hurt)

Verba has communicated through his agent that he doesnt want teams to even contact him if they arent willing to start at a $35mil multi yr deal. He's indicated if he doesnt get it he'll retire.

phew - as a Lions fan I hope Millen is rushing out to sign him right away - sounds like a real winner!
