Fantasy Kickers: Why bother?

I'd love to pick up Akers in the 12th or 13th, but on average he's going in the middle of the 10th round. That means, I've likely got:

1 QBs, 4 RBs, 4 WRs

I think I'd rather get a solid backup QB or maybe the last TE who isn't garbage with that pick. Especially when 3 rounds later I could take Wilkins, or 5 rounds later Stover.
