Just saw this on PTI. Too bad for Akili. Looks like he'll never find a home in the NFL. Maybe an Arena team will pick him up for next year. It couldn't hurt to give the AFL a shot, nothing else seems to work for him.

Come on, he couldn't be somebody's backup, somewhere???

Cleveland backup = Charlie Frye
Denver backup = Matt Mauck
New England backup = Rohan Davey
Seattle backup = Seneca Wallace
St. Louis backup = Jeff Smoker

He's gotta be better than some of these guys.

It's a shame that he's not but he's not better than those guys. Additionally, those guys are also much younger than Smith. I figure that if Green Bay couldn't turn him around, there wasn't much hope for him.

The first in the line of QBs that came from Jeff Tedford that have yet to pan out in the NFL.
