Madden 2005 PS2 question

OK, let me start off by saying I am probably the worst Madden 2005 player on the board. But one thing that is really getting my goat is my fricking punt returner fumbling and the opposing team running it in for a TD (I play against the CPU). I am hitting that triangle button but it doesn't seem to help - a least once a game my PR fumbles and 90% of the time it leads to a TD.

From Googling it looks like this is a major glitch - anybody have any ways to handle it?

this happens to me sometimes. You ahve to call a fair catch.

its not a glitch.

if somebody is running full speed at you and drills you just as you catch the ball, you're going to drop it 99% of the time.

be smart, fair catch.

are you switching to the punt returner first? otherwise ive never not had a punt returner call fair catch when i hit triangle, you could also be hitting it too late and the guys arm is still waving while he tries to catch it

As a newbie, i didnt even know wut a fair catch button was but then i figured it out. Thats definatly the problem. Also like one of the previous guys said before, if u let the comp on ur team catch it for you, they never fair catch and ull always turn the ball over.
