Ah, the orgin of pwned! In Warcraft II, when a hero died it was supposed to say "So and so owned so and so", but the programmer made a type so it said pwned. And so an internet legend was born. It quickly spread to Starcraft and CounterStrike, and from those immenesely popular games, to the rest of the world. Amazing, no?
