Jaguars | Decision Day Soon for F. Taylor
Wed, 22 Jun 2005 08:55:25 -0700

Mike Freeman, of the Florida Times-Union, reports the day when a decision has to be made about Jacksonville Jaguars RB Fred Taylor (knee) and his injured knee is coming soon. Taylor continues to run on the sidelines while his teammates practice. Taylor's work ethic and professionalism are unquestioned. In the next two to four weeks, Taylor's rehab will drastically intensify. The Jaguars plan calls for Taylor to do extensive cutting, sprinting and other tests designed to probe the true strength of the knee. The team will know soon if Taylor can actually play or not this coming season. "Now," head coach Jack Del Rio told Freeman Tuesday, June 21, "we will see what Fred's status truly is." Del Rio still believes that Taylor will be ready for training camp and the season.

Sounds like the rubber is going to meet the road here shortly. Del Rio from what I've heard has mainted Fred will be ready to start the season.

Jaguars | Law to Visit
Wed, 22 Jun 2005 11:47:28 -0700

Vic Ketchman, of Jaguars.com, reports free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) will fly to Jacksonville Wednesday evening, June 22, to visit with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He will take a physical exam and workout for the team tomorrow morning. "We want to see where he is. We're going to see where he is physically. If he was healthy, we would have interest," head coach Jack Del Rio said. It's unlikely the Jaguars would be willing to spend at a high level for Law, as the team remains impressed with young talent it has competing for the starting right cornerback job.

Law would make a nice fit in JAX. This would definitely solidify that secondary.

I just don't see Law signing for near league minimum.

He has the advantage to wait for something to transpire. An injury, a delayed progression... something will happen and he will get decent money. He won't get 6 yr 30 mil type dough... So if he is holding his breath, then he will suffocate himself.

So does anyone else here remember last year when everyone out of the blue decided that Ty Law was the #1 cb in the entire NFL because of one big game and I was telling them how crazy they were? Best in the game don't usually go for the league minimum.. ;).

I read somewhere that Taylor let on that he may have had an ACL injury. He likened his rehab to that of Edge and McGahee and is using the same trainer they both used. There is a LOT to this mystery injury that we just dont know. Should be interesting to see how things pan out, but my guess is that BUF gets that 3rd round pick they have been holding out for from some team

Looks like in about a month we can try to figure out where Travis Henry in the Jax offense fits in the top 20.

What? Where do they get this from? Was it a season or two ago that I read quotes for Fragile Freddy himself saying how in the past he hadn't worked through minor injuries and probably could've played through more of them. Now all of a sudden his work ethic is beyond reproach?
Well, at least he is running on the side-line of the same field where his team is practicing. That's gotta count for something.

You know how many NFL players have successfully come back from a Lis Franc injury? His name is Duce Staley, that's about it.
