I have a snapper as a pet, i can tell you that the boy did have to do something to the turtle to get it to bite him like that. Snappers are mean , but to come right up and attack a human i have never seen before. My snapper is roughly a foot long and has never acted agressive towards me for no reason. When you try to handle him he does get rather pissed off and will open his jaws, hiss and try to scare you.
