pick up dilemma

Does anyone know a way to pick up players after the initial draft that is not first come first serve or by a bidding process? Our league has a couple guys who are on the computer looking for the next breakout guy while games are in progress. Some of us access our ff through work and have to wait til monday--by then any new standouts are gone. Our commissioner does not want to be in charge of bidding--so that is not an option. Any help?

The only way I can think of is to limit the number of waiver moves each team is allowed to make. This will place a premium on the moves that you do decide to make, and not let you make decisions on a whim, or just by a good game. This is especially important in a league where bench spots are scarce and teams are expecting to rotate their kickers/defenses in the waiver wires.

oh, and btw, u really should try and get ff access at home. it is definitely worth it and will probably make you more productive at work.
