Pork ribs(smoked 3-4 hours with a dry rub, with last 1/2 hour or so with apple cider steaming right under them...makes them soooooo moist fall off bone)
beer can chicken
burgers/hot dogs
all the rest is regular fare(slaw, potato salad, beans, etc...)
My grandpa's b-day is on the 4th, so we're having a b-day cookout for him. I smuggled some illegal fireworks into my room, and I'm gonna bring in my friends and blow them off in the middle of everything as a surprise. Oh,,,,,,,,and I'll be grilling my famous hamburgers on the weber!

"hastur". That's exactly right.
Apple cider (not "juice") is da bomb when it comes to doing pig right.
I've never been a big fan of KC BBQ (where everything is smothered in some tomato based sauce) or NC style (where they chop everything into atoms with a clever). Memphis style is dry. And Texans can't get off the mesquite.
If you smoke it slow and right, and moisten it with cider - that's all you need.
Pulled pork BBQ.
Hog heaven.
I grill a lot. But I must be honest. I've never heard of the "beer can chicken" several posts here have mentioned.
Must not be a "Southern" thing.
Somebody educate me. It sounds interesting.
i thought it was a southern thing... basically you empty out a chicken, open a can of beer and drink a little less than half, fit the chicken over the top of the beer can so its standing upright, and then you put in on the grill like that. you can find recipes all over the internet, i suggest you search for one and try it out next monday, its so good

we had some people selling fireworks in the parking lot of lowes yesterday... with a big sign that said FIREWORKS, they even had little signs pointing the way

...eh.
A few days later I'll be cruisin' to the Bahamas and gettin' drunk with dancer-chicks.
Since I'm not cool enough to hang with Mickey every year, I usually check out the fireworks with a few friends at Couer d'Alene Lake, off the resort... then a party or something.
Translated me and a million other people are gonna be elbow to elbow in tourist sweat roasting in the good ole FL sun! I live in Orlando, it ain't all it's cracked up to be.
We're flying out to Puyallop, WA to see my dad's brother and his family. It should be fun because I haven't been back to Washington since we moved to Minnesota.
My uncle said he's taking us to an Indian Reservation to buy fireworks. We'll probably have burgers, chicken, chips, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, soda, juice, and cake.
