The FLF has been around for several years now on the net. It's core group has remained pretty consistent over that time, and we always have a lot of fun. The competition is good and we have developed some rules to encourage members to stay in the league for many years.
Each year, returning owners are allowed to retain up to three players from their previous year's team. This creates some consistency from year-to-year. Expansion teams seem to be put at somewhat of a disadvantage with this rule, but they always perform well in our league.
Scoring is pretty basic, with points for quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, kickers, and defensive teams. Bonus points are awarded, but nothing is too complicated or off-the-wall.
This year we are moving to a revised version of a free agent system from what we have used in previous years. During the first half of each week, a classical waiver wire system will used in which the teams with the worst records will have the first shot at available free agents. The second half of each week will be a free-for-all, first-come first-served system for those players that are left. Either way, fantasy teams will be limited to two free agent pick-ups per week and they will cost $2 each.
Trades will be free. Our new hosting system, myfantasyleague.com, has system that always other owners to vote and approve/disapprove trades which I think is a good feature and will be utilized.
The entry fee is $25. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three teams and the team with the league MVP. If you have any friends that would be interested, please pass along the word. We have several expansion spots available.
