Against the Patriots two years ago in the playoffs, he led them down the field, and than threw a beautiful pass on 4th down that if Bennett had caught, probably would have led to a Titans win. (Bennett dropped it)
Manning has choked every single time he has played a big playoff game against a good defense. (He scorched crappy defenses in Denver and KC).
In his defense, I think Manning will eventually win a super bowl when everything comes together for the Colts. (Kind of like when Favre won a super bowl). But so far, he has been a huge choker in big games.
You should have said:

Your talking about things that happened 2 or more years ago. The discussion is whether or not he will do those things this year, not what he did in the past. Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Decent backup option, not a guy you want to start every week.
Carries an extra injury risk... but garbage time and potential blowup games outweigh that factor.
OK Benm, you've made your point about 6 times. In your opinion
McNair is done, Shader and I disagree. That's not an emotional
response, it's our opinion. Enough already, OK.

Now you really want to stir up the Colts fans!
Manning best or second best Fantasy QB, unfortunately for the
Colts, fantasy points don't count in the NFL.

All the reports we are getting from mini-camps say McNair is throwing the ball like he did in 2003, lots of zip. He's lost 20 lbs and appears poised for a big year. As a Titan fan, I love McNair as a winner- he can carry the team on his back. Volek is the best BACKUP in the NFL. McNair thrives on pressure, while Peyton chokes in big games(obligatory Colts dig). Right now, I wouldn't want Steve as my fantasy starter, even in 2003 he wasn't a great fantasy QB. If Chris Brown stays healthy, Fisher will sit on a lead and run time off the clock by running the ball, always has, always will. I'd take McNair as my backup any day, everytime.
I wasn't aware that McNair had won a Super Bowl. What year was that?
Okay fine. Bur everyone is missing the boat here. I agree McNair may have a good year, how could I not agree, it's the beginning of the year and anything is possible. But this thread started out as an opinion from titans fans on if he was a great under valued pickup. My point, and remember people its just my opinion, is that I think he has lost something he won't regain from all the injuries he's suffered.
I hope I'm wrong, I am a huge fan. But, I have seen this same thing happen with Eddie george, he had injuries and a sub par yearand everyone said for 3 years that he would be back to old eddie form, and he never was the same. Same thing with Kurt Warner(best example), everyone waited for 2-3 years for him to shine again and he never did because the injuries just had a lasting effect. BTW my opinion is Kurt Warner sucks this year too, regardless of his team.
I don't get it.
The guy has played injured his ENTIRE career apart from when he played for the Oilers. How can you say that now that he is healthy he is going to get worse? I'm sure you drafted Volek on your fantasy team and are trying to reassure yourself or something. McNair is a great QB..Only guy in NFL history to die on the field and then come back again for the next snap. He's got incredible heart and I think he should have a good fantasy year. He may not lead Tenesee to the playoffs..I suspect 20+ TDs for McNair..Especially with Chow at the OC position.

he didnt say anything about a superbowl...im confused???
Yeah but he said Manning chokes in big games, as if McNair has won one.
benm3218 wrote:Yeah he is best fantasy Qb for sure.
I happen to think he is best QB in NFL right now too..... but I know many would disagree.
Yeah, because both statements for McNair are psycho babble.
At first glance both statements are without creedence. But when you take in to account that it was merely two years ago that he was Co-MVP of the league and a fantasy stud, there is some merit to ben's blurb.
Another thing that has to be considered is that the Titans D is being restructured. This could mean they could give up a lot of points this season. Which then means that McMair will have to score a lot of points. Could add up to another stellar season for Air McMair.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?
