Microsoft has Halo, Nintendo has Mario/Zelda, Sega had Sonic, etc.
If a company can afford to release their own consoles, they can typically make an absolute killing by releasing highly anticipated and hyped games and software on their system only. If it weren't for the FF being exclusively on PS2 and GTA franchise having a jump start on PS2, I honestly think the Xbox would have much higher sales figures.
And word is Rockstar isn't going to be signing any system exclusive deals for the next-generation.
Which is smart. They'll make even more money.
