Fantasy Football Weekly's Rankings...

Postby Warpigs » Sat Jul 09, 2005 6:00 am

I've learned to steer clear of many of the magazines' rankings. However, I've always been partial to the rankings from Fantasy Football Weekly. Thought it would be interesting to type some in and see what you all think from a critique standpoint...

QB

1. Peyton Manning
2. Daunte Culpepper
3. Donovan McNabb
4. Trent Green
5. Brett Favre
6. Marc Bulger
7. Tom Brady
8. Kerry Collins
9. Jake Delhomme
10. Matt Hasselbeck
11. Carson Palmer
12. Drew Brees
13. Chad Pennington
14. Michael Vick (for some crazy reason, they have Vick as "Ron Mexico"!!!)
15. Byron Leftwich

RB

1. Tomlinson
2. Holmes
3. Alexander
4. McGahee
5. J Lewis
6. Edge
7. Corey Dillon
8. Clinton Portis
9. D. Davis
10. McAllister
11. Rudi Johnson
12. Curtis Martin
13. Tiki Barber
14. Julius Jones
15. Kevin Jones

WR

1. Randy Moss
2. T Owens
3. M Harrison
4. T Holt
5. C Johnson
6. J Walker
7. J Horn
8. A Johnson
9. R Wayne
10. H Ward
11. N Burleson
12. Darrell Jackson
13. M Clayton
14. S. Smith
15. Muhammad

(I'll post TE, K and DEF rankings later Saturday)...

My only major gripe is that Aaron Brooks should be a top 15 QB in front of peopl like Leftwich and Pennington.

Not the most atrocious list that I've seen. Obviously I think there's some disagreement about where people are but overall not terrible.

Agree - Brooks is a pretty good fantasy QB although not so good at actually winning games.

14. Michael Vick (for some crazy reason, they have Vick as "Ron Mexico"!!!)

What's that all about?--sincerely, Valtrex (the two obviously ahve never met!)

Not a bad list. They didn't go out of there way to make that controverial pick just to make headlines.

Brooks is very inconsistent week-by-week, which is why I wouldn't want him on my team. But I agree he's still a better fantasy-QB than Leftwich.

I would put him btwn Penny and Lefty.

That said more often than not I would put off drafting a back up qb a round or two and get lefty over brooks. Most of the time the quality at other positions will be better than the difference btwn brooks and lefty. IMO

I disagree with some minor things here and there, but overall, not as horrible as I've seen in mags this year (Bell at RB3, JJones at RB5, etc.).

But I agree with Brooks, in traditional scoring leagues, he's never finished outside the top 10, or top 8, for that matter.
