ADPs and rankings are necessary. However, you must iternalize this information to creat a draft plan or roadmap. Walk through your plans no fewer than 2 times. You want to know who you are targeting each round and what you will do if a player is there that you did not expect.

Ok thanks...you guys have been a real help with the average draft postition. One thing that I have noticed is that Shaun Alexander is getting picked 2nd in most drafts, is that safe? I thought he was still holding out for a long term contract, do most of you guys see him playing?

oh yeah - last bit of advice:

Dont draft your important leagues until the weekend before the season starts or at least close to it. Its much too early to draft now - simply because the SA example you brought up is just one of a bunch of questions that should be answered before you draft.

If you know what guys are good, just make a cheat sheet with your rankings by position. This way you can mark off players quickly as the live draft moves along. If you are doing a very fast draft that allows you to prerank players, you might want to pre rank your players according to you rankings so that you can find them fast. However, I never bother with prerankings (on the site like yahoo), I just use my positional cheat sheets.
