Alright, get ready for cold, hard statistics. It annoys me that Julius Jones is considered Top 5 by some while Michael Bennett is looked upon as a Top 25 by all. Both systems will provide run-heavy offenses, but Minnesota should score more due to their better passing game. Both running backs will have to share time with a goal-line vulture (Jones & A-Train, Bennett & Moe). Both have young backups that should press for time (Mewelde and Barber III), but while Parcells has said, on the record, that he likes Barber, Tice has said that he wants to go into as much of a single-running back system as possible. Minnesota, when healthy, has a better offensive line. The biggest question mark surrounding both players, however, is injury concerns. This one factor drops Bennett into the 9th round at times but keep JJ in the 2nd, at worst.
I'm not trying to say that Michael Bennett should be looked upon as a Top 5 running back, but their systems are far too similar for such a dissonence in their respective rankings. So, is there a statistic that I overlooked or is one of these two running backs unjustified in their common ranking?

I think Bennett dropping to the 9th has more to do with him single-handedly killing so many owners' fantasy teams over the past two years, and less to do with his potential....
For the past 2 years I have burned picks in the first 4 rounds on Michael Bennett, and I have NEVER been able to start him.... Not once.... He's always either injured, coming off injury, or fighting to get his job back because of an injury....
Maybe it would help if his injuries were something major from time to time, then maybe I could say, well, that could happen to anyone, and move on.... But Bennett's injuries are always some nagging little thing like a hang nail or yeast infection that cause him to miss 6 games.... It's hard to place ANY faith in a guy like that..... And I will NEVER do it again.....
I'm not all over the Juliette Jones bandwagon like a lot of other folks, but I do think he has to be more reliable than Michael Bennett.... Mainly because Michael Bennett has been the poster boy of unreliability over the past 2 years, and you can only have so many consecutive years of being the "bust of the draft" before people stop drafting you early.....

haha well said. I was the lucky guy who got Mewelde Moore last year and won 2-3 games because of it.

Same here. I would never draft Bennett either. Like Plindsey said it minor injuries that keep him out. Julius came back from a broken bone and played last year. hat shows me he is at least tough.
Julius Jones is being drafted a little high because of his potential. He likely will be a top 15 rb in my mind and may break into the top 10. Bennett has a lot of ability, but like P-linds said, he has killed teams over the last two years and the Minny RB situation has been more volatile than nearly any position on any other team. Think about last year, once bennett got hurt moe, moore & smith all got chances and all had decent games, but no clear starter emerged. Tice likes using different backs, and that's fine for real football. But in fantasy, you don't want to pick a rb in minny, because it's just whoever is flavor of the week. Jones is worth a 2nd rd pick in my mind. I would probably take him at like 12-15. Bennett is a guy I just won't pick at all, unless it's late, like 8-9th rd. And that's why Bennett drops. No one wants to take that gamble.

Yeah I wouldn't burn a 3rd or 4th round pick on either of these guys. maybe a 7th or 8th but I doubt JJ will be there. I've been burned by Bennet in the past, but not again. However just as i say that both these guys could potentially have monster seasons

How many TD's constitute a monster year for Michael Bennett? Four?
I mean, the guy has been in the league for 4 years and has 12 career TD's....
