If this was for a seventh round pick I think the Jets got the upper end of the deal. I am not sure why Dallas would do this in light of the fact that they need a free safety and Hunter had been working on converting over.
Also, guess this puts the Jets as less likely to pursue Ty Law as rumored

Everyone here knows Pete Hunter is worth a first roun.......nope, couldn't keep a straight face....

The Dallas Cowboys' website states it is a 5th round pick in the 2006 draft or a 6th round pick in the 2007 draft. So if he meets certain conditions, I guess the Cowboys would be recooping the 5th round pick they used on him initially
