Bonus Scoring Advice Needed Please.

Postby Agent23 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 2:22 pm

Hey guys, this is the basic scoring:

Pass,Rush,Rec. TD = 6 Points

Pass Yards: 25 = 1 Point
Rush/Rec. Yards: 10 = 1 Point

Receptions: 1 = 1 Point

I wanna in-coporate Bonus's for meeting special yardage ie: 300 Pass Yards = 6 points or 100 Rush/Rec. Yards = 5 points...

What do recommend as a good formula...?

Thanks. ;-D

I wouldnt give 6 points for meeting that. Maybe 3 points for 100yds rushing/receiving and 300yds passing. Im not a big fan of that personally.

So, do you think it's better off scrapping it altogether...?

Anybody else, got a recommendation...? Thanks.

The league that I have with bonuses awards 3 pts for 300yds passing/100yds rushing or receiving/any score over 50 yards. I think all of these should be rewarded with 1/2 a TD score simply because they are nice milestone marks. It's worked really well for us.

My league used to do 1 pt per 20 yds Rsh/rec and 3 pts bonus for 100 yds. Then 2 pts every 20 after 100. Passing 1 pt per 25 yds starting at 100 yds, 3 pt bonus for 300 yds and 2 pts per 25 after 300. If you give 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/rec then that is heavy on yardage like that, any bonus on top of that is too much in my opinion.

In my leagues which award bonuses, we go:

300yrd passing/ 100 yds rushing or recieving = +3
TD pass over 50 = +1
TD run or reception over 40 =+1

This really doesnt effect players values much, I play two leauges with the exact same scoring, other than the bonuses, and the end of yr player rankings last year were virtually identical. Just higher in the league's with bonuses. Just gives you something else to cheer for -- Im a fan of them, some arent
