This is my consensus ranking using 18 sources and my own personal adjustments in the final rankings (ie Strength of Schedule, Liklihood of injuries, Possibility of being benched, etc).

These rankings are more or less based with Keeper leagues in mind. As well it is more an assesment of the team's position production as opposed to the individual stats (ie Garcia and Harrington would be interchangable, Feely and Frerotte, Smith and Rattay).

I have a formula that I have input into a excel spreadsheet that spit the list out once all was said and done...

And this is how it looked:

I do not have my spreadsheet on this computer otherwise I would release my full position by position cheatsheet... But I hope to have my 124 RB's, 143 WR's, 71 TE's, 32 K's and 32 D/ST's on the site shortly for those that may want to use them.

Just out of curiosity, why 71 TEs? Even in a 32 team league I doubt you'd have 71 TE's drafted.

A good list to go by while drafting.

My theory on drafting a QB is to wait until later in the draft. I think you can still get a good QB who will put up quality numbers in the later rounds and I'd rather pick up some stud RB and WR in the early rounds. According to antsports.com, you can get these QBs later in the draft:

Bulger 5.05 ADP
Green 5.07
Collins 6.08
Favre 7.06
Hasselbeck 7.07
Brady 8.04

This is for 10 team drafts. I'd take these guys in later rounds before picking one in the top 3 rounds. I prefer to pick my RB and WR early.

Why not rank as many players as possible?

You never know which one might be a diamond.

Trent Green must be one of the most unrespected guys in football.

Bulger is not better than Green.

Is it just me or do you feel more comforitable waiting to take a quarterback later and later this year. Seems like there are so many options that I would be comforitable with.

I'll take Tom Brady in round 7 happily rather than Peyton in the round 1.

Delhomme still doesnt get fantasy respect after 2 good years. Carr and Palmer and also McNair fall really late. I think these guys will bust out for big years.

Your top 15 look pretty good. Although Id drop Plummer behind Palmer.

I think Carr is overrated again. How he still goes ahead of Harrington, I dont know. Even as "poorly" as Harrington played last yr he was still more valuable than Carr - now that he has actual NFL calibur players around him he should put up substantially better fantasy numbers than Carr.

McNair below Carr? Again - when Im drafting that late Im picking upside and Carr simply isnt in McNair's league.

Big Ben is too high as well. He isnt a fantasy QB.

I would switch Harrington and Carr.
Id drop Big Ben below Boller.
Id put McNair ahead of Griese.
Finally I would rank Gus Frerotte ahead of Bledsoe.

Overall a nice job.

You hit on an issue I've always struggled with myself on ranking QBs. Typically I want to get one of my top 12 projected QBs, but when I've already got a starter I feel confident in, I usually look for a guy with little risk over a guy with lots of upside because I only need the guy for spot duty one week.

For example, I would actually prefer Carr as a backup to McNair. Not because I think Carr will outproduce McNair in a full season, but because I don't know when Volek will be taking over, and don't want to have to draft two backups just to have one.

i think you have the niner QB postion very underrated. Even last year in the worst season in 49er history Rattay was able to put up pretty decent FF numbers when healthy, sure he wasnt winnin any NFL games but he will statistically outperform Ramsey, Dilfer, Ferrotte, Grossman everytime.....

Plus our new offensive Co. is the former Saints Offensive Co. and we all know how much he liked to run in the endzone, even with a dope like Brooks at the helm.
