Stay away from first round picks!

It seems like this season could be a terrible one as far as fantasy impact of first round picks in concerned.

There are a lot of skill position players that could make an impact, but with the agents wanting the same signing bonuses (or more even) as last season's picks, but with one less season to pro-rate (they can only spread it out over 5 seasons instead of 6 because the CBA is set to expire in two seasons) it will be very difficult for teams to be able to do that. I think they'll all show up late to camp.

If I were drafting early, I'd stick to veterans unless I was in a keeper/dynasty league.

they always sign... there arent enough good vets to fill up a first or second round.

It will help when Alex Smith signs and sets the market for the other high picks. When that happens the other top 10 or so picks will sign quickly.
