Worst Drafting Team of the past 15 years?

Postby koffeeboy » Tue Jul 26, 2005 2:18 pm

There was an article on ESPN insider recently that ranked all of the NBA teams with grades over the past ten years based on their ability to draft.

So what about football? Obviously the 1985 49ers draft was one of the best... and Pittsburgh has their huge one in the 70's that netted 4 Hall of Famers...

So since 1990, who has been the worst?

Let the Cleveland jokes begin!!!

Cleveland had a terrible run.

St. Louis has had some really bad drafts too.

Cincinnati has had the worst luck as far as drafts go. Just look how many of their #1 overall picks, and other early picks "busted" through the 90's.

To be fair, there were a lot of people that said those picks were going to bust as they made them.

Cleveland, Cinci, and Arizona all come to mind off the bat.

Cincy would be the worst but the Bills

Mike Williams and many others.

They took a lot of good players in the past few years:

McGahee
Travis Henry
Antoine Winfield
Peerless Price (who you seem to love)
Eric Moulds
Jonas Jennings

I would definitely put Cincy and Cleveland before the Bills.

Cincy or Cleveland has to take the cake. The Chargers ould be in contention if we were only looking at the 90's but last year's robbery and their swap with Atlanta were both two of the best deals in recent draft history.

Atlanta has got to be up there: bruce pinkins, jeff george, michael booker, trading the #4 pick in the 2000 draft to get a 2nd round pick in 1999 used on backup tight end reggie kelly

I'm not sure about all of the 90s, but the Lions have been abysmal during the latter half at least. There was a stat about how few players were still playing in the NFL from the Bobby Ross era that was staggering. There's a reason that they've lost more than ten games a season for the last 4 years.
