"probably not in as good of shape as he needs to be in."

I'm sure it was much more .....direct... than that.

He shouldn't do that, you can ruin players like this. Remember Kwame Brown and how tough Micheal Jordan was on him in basketball? Totally ruined the kid.

;-D ;-D ;-D Triple thumbs up to Saban. After Wannstedts lax and incompetent style the team needs a good kick in the butt.

Good for Saban. Break him down and build him up. Though, I bet he either gets cut or placed on a euro squawd

Read this story from the Sun Sentinel. It explains what happened alot better. Wright is a young kid who is out of shape, why he lasted so long in the Supplemental Draft despite his talent and size.

My guess is that the kid thought he'd be getting cut from all the verbal punishment he was probably receiving for being overweight. But Saban had some good things to say about him afterwards, so no I don't think he's being a jerk. He's being tough, something all coaches need to be able to do.

By far my favorite coach ever in highschool football was the one coach that would ream you for when you just absolutely sucked, but was also the first one on the sidelines to congratulate you when you came up big. I think all coaches should be that straightforward with their players.

well..... I think it's far more likely that the "Nicktator" was being more than straightforward. which is what makes it funny.
