Hines Ward apparently wont report to camp without a new deal. Sorry don't have a link, just saw it on SportCentre.

Apparently Ward is the 37th highest paid WR in the league.

Surprising move, I wouldn't expect someone like Ward to holdout considering I've always looked upon the act as someone that is less than admirable, and Ward has always been a class act. At the same time I'm pretty surprised that he is only the 37th best paid WR.

I doubt as much of a fuss will be made from Wards' holdout. Ward has a reputation for being a pretty selfless guy whose a great team player. I can see a lot of guys who are opposed to the other holdouts siding with Ward on this one.

Ummm...let's see....Ward plays for 7 years and three pro bowls and earns his contract, and never complains....Javon has a good year and becomes a b*tch. Who's in the right here?

Yeh agreed, Hines never seems like the vocal type. But if he is only the 37th highest paid he does deserve a bigger contract no questions asked.

I didn't expect this from Ward but I can understand why he's doing it. And now without Plax being there Ward has a bit more leverage. I can't see this being much of an issue he'll be there.

Besides didn't they name their stadium after him Hines Field?

This should have been expected. Ward threatened a holdout last year, and PIT said they would get him a new contract before this years training camp. They have not. As soon as Plax left, he immediately should have been signed

I was a bit suprised to read that Ward is holding out, b/c he is such a good guy. But he certainly deserved better than 37th wr pay, that's just not right.
