Edge to see less time on 3rd Down

There is some talk in Colts camp to limiting Edgerrin James' involvement on third-downs this year.
James hates coming out of games, so we'll see if they go through with this. He was running at half-speed by the playoff game versus New England last year, which is possibly a factor. Jul. 29 -

They may want to also get a good look at Dominic Rhodes to see if they really must sign Edge to a long term deal.

They have little chance of keeping Edge after this season. They have zero chance if they pull him from snaps.

This will be interesting. I would hate to see that from a fantasy prospective and can't find any reasons why they would do that. Bottom line, the guy is great regardless of the down.

BTW, I have the NFL channel and saw the NE game and if some consider following your blocker running half speed, then you must not watch a lot of football.

If edge wasn't a great starter, he would BE a third down back. He's a great receiver, you can't take that kind of player out, especially with peyton audibleing all the time. Most of those audibles are going to include edge and his receiving skills anyways. That is bogus, I am confident that won't happen.
