QUESTION- WHO ARE THE 5 WORST DEFENSES?

Postby Smokinggun111 » Sat Aug 23, 2003 7:32 pm

Just seeking input on who the worst defenses will be this year. What teams will you ABSOLUTELY want to match up against?
Your input is appreciated. Thanks.

Worst defenses

Postby lifeform » Sat Aug 23, 2003 8:24 pm

Last year, the defenses that gave up the most points were:

32 - Cincinnati
31 - Detroit
30 - Minnesota
29 - Arizona
28 - Kansas City
27 - Buffalo

New Orleans was next at 26, but they were a strange defense last year -- they gave up a bunch of points, but they also did a lot of things right (39 sacks, 20 INTs, and 5 blocked kicks).

If one of your offensive studs is going against one of the above teams, chances are you're in for a big day.

Hope springs eternal before every NFL season.

Nothing personal, Ben, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I already now that Minnesota is gonna be a top 10 defense next year. Ken Irvin, Chris Claiborne, Chris Hovan. Gonna be real good.

TOP 10? dear god man give me a break. lets cut the homerism and be realistic. Id this a much improved D? yes it is but top 10. No Way. Top Half? i doubt it. Top 20? thats more like it. the offence should be top 2 or 3 in the league. with a top 10 def, we're talking super bowl and that just isnt gonna happen, not this year IMO. Worst defences gotta be Bengals, Lions, Cards, saints, Packers and i still wouldnt be opposed to playing a player against the Vikes D.

1st string VS. 1st string. the Vikes were in the red zone 5 of 6 possessions against Oakland. The O-Line is opening holes big enough for Gilbert Brown to run through. Id say Top 5 for sure and i dont think im being a homer they were #2 last season.

it is only one game, but im not saying they wont be good. 2 or 3 is certainly possible, i just think its far away from a lock.
