Smith is the small speedy guy.... but oh wait, so is colbert.... so whos the possession move the chians guy??? certainly neither of them.
Gardner is a big target with a great leap and sure hands. He is a very talented player who couldnet get outta the coaches dog house. Gardner is the perfect compliment to a guy like Smith... filling Mooses role to a tee. Colbert would mean the offensive co-ordinater has some serious changing his plays to do.
Id say colbert comes in as the 3rd wideout.

Up for grabs at this point between Colbert and Gardner. It's really hard to say in a situation with a young emerging WR and then a veteran WR comes in... The only sure thing is Delhomme in Carolina IMO, but Gardner or Colbert could be a nice surprise.
If I had to bet money which guy ends up seeing more reps at the #2 spot besides Steve Smith, right now I would lean towards the veteran Rod Gardner. Colbert is still young and gaining experience and would seem like a better candidate to work his way up from the WR#3 role.
