I know. I just remeber watching that game and having Priest on my squad. Priest had 4tds too, then they pulled him and Blaylock got the other 4. It was against ATL... Imagine an 8 td 250 yd scoring day........... WOW!!!!
yeah, LJ's long term prospects are not fantastic unless vermeil stays and they replace that line.

Fact is if Holmes blows his knee out tomorrow, LJ will be a top 3 RB. He had 9 TDs in what 6 games? He could easily toss up 20 TDs. Now that's a backup with upside.

Sure, what if Priest keeps playing for two years and plays every game without any injuries? See, I can do it to. I can throw out just as possible an idea, probably more likely in fact.
The fact is that there is no way you can predict an injury. Drafting Larry Johnson is banking on Priest getting hurt or retiring. Personally, I don't care to do that. I'd rather take the chance on Toefield or another backup 10 rounds later and basically have the same chance at ending up with a starting runningback.
Why has KC not tried to draft replacements? I mean, if the line is getting so old, why not replenish it while you still can? They have to see that the only reason they can succeed is due to that line, so that should be top priority. They still have the RB's, the TE and possibly the QB to continue for a few more years, it seems to make sense to me.
Or even Edge's backup, Dominic Rhodes, or Ahman Green's, Davenport. There are quite a few guys out there that have proven to be able to carry the load when the starter goes down, at much cheaper prices. And because of all the things mentioned earlier in this post about KC, I am not sold on LJ being as "studly" in the future.

Well, they need a little help on defense so that's kinda where their drafting focus has been . The o-line is important, but without a defense they were still 7-9 last year. If you've got multiple holes, you may as well draft for the holes you have now rather than the holes you will have a few years down the road.
