Yays and Nays for the Seattle Starting O in 2 1/2 quarters of play.
YAYS -
Hasselbeck had another VERY solid outing =
17-of-23 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns. He even managed to scrape together 38 net yds rushing. Hell if Robinson hadn't dropped 3 early passes (more on that to come) he'd have been 20-23 with at least 220 yds.
Both Jackson and Robinson were over 60+ yds and a TD a piece, while Engram thieved 5 catches for 60 yards of his own.
NAYS -
Womack is going to have a rough time of it at LT against small/speedy DE's. Within the last 2 games he's given up 3 sacks. 2 to R-Kal Truluk (yeah...WHO?!) and 1 to Dwight Freeney last weekend at Indy. In all actuality, Womack has done WORSE as Freeney single-handedly forced Holmgren to remove Hasselbeck early.
Please Mr. Jones ..sign the damn contract.
So Robinson seems to be in this mire where for the first quarter he looks like a damn rookie hell bent on destroying offensive drives by dropping passes. Tonight he dropped 2 out routes and a crossing route.
But somewhere in the middle of the 2nd qtr, he's looking like the top 10 WR ready to bust out of the stadium. Something that turns him into Superman is when Hasselbeck (like he did all game tonight) reads the blitz and then makes the correct audible for a slant play. Anyone who's seen Seattle knows this is quickly becoming their flavor and style. This is all geared around getting the ball to Krob and letting him create yards after the catch.
If he can just get through the 1st qtr.

As I live in Illinois, I didn't get to see it, but reading stats - the O has looked good. I keep tellin the fellas out here, if the D steps up, this team is for real!
so is that seven drops for robinson this preseason? i've only seen the indy game (and seattle didnt impress me all that much), so i dont know how bad these drops have been. but it's starting to sound like i need to drop robinson down a little bit in my rankings. any info better than mine would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what to tell yah Yoda. It's been feast or famine with this guy so far this preseason. The good thing is that he's getting open and Hasselbeck is passing to him...the bad thing is that he can't catch until he gets his hands warmed up.
All in all it would seem this should be a corrective issue.
Consider the fact that he was non existant for much of the first quarter, and he still racked up 60+ yards and a touchdown in 22 minutes of football.

my only concern is the mental aspect of the problem. it sounds like it's a lack of concentration, which can be corrected easily. or it could plague the dude all year, causing hucklebuck and the coaches to lose some faith in him. again, i havent seen all of these drops, but seven in three games is way too much for a professional. i hope he gets it together b/c i like the guy and would like to draft his silly @ss.
well i rewatched the game to look at the linebackers performance : btw...
noticed that Robinson had 1 drop that was a rushed pass by Hasselbeck as he was getting hurried from a weak pass block on Womack's part. It really wasn't catchable.
So make it 2 or 2 1/2 drops.

what's up w/ jones? that's another reason i've cooled on the 'hawk players a bit. i'm from stl and trust me when i say that the womack thing is gonna kill you guys this year. not that the o-line woes were all his fault, but st.clair was an absolute liability last year. i'm not sure ive ever seen such a standout, subpar performance from an nfl lineman. a link that weak in the chain completely throws the offense into chaos. hope womack doesnt turn out to be that guy for you.
oh Womack is a huge liability. I mean, for everything right the Seahawks have going this year (the secondary, the QB to WRs connection, Hutchinson back n healthy) it could all mean squat with Womack at LT.
He's getting ...as the kids say..pwned.
