These guys drive me crazy. They never seem to want to change anything if it makes them think. We can submit any rule change suggestions this time of year, then we have a vote.
Last year, I submitted a "roster" change. I asked to add a flex position...Instead of having 3 RBs and 4 WRs, I said add a flex..
3/4RBs and 5/4WRs total of 8.
I was out-voted 1-9. What do I have to do to let these people know that FF is not just submitting your lineup on Sunday morning. It drives me nuts.
OK, can anyone suggest a better way to to set up our roster and help us with bye weeks and add depth to our rosters or maybe change the starters...
Roster limits are terrible. I played in a league like that last season. It was dumb. It took all the skill out of developing a team.
That is the 1st thing you should do.
If you want to add a Flex. Considering removing the #3 wr. Only starting 2wr and 2rb with the Flex.
i totally hear what you are saying about the "simply submiting a roster"
SOMETHING I WOULD SAY....
Look at the pro or expert leagues....lets use their settings or something similar. They are experts so they have been through this.
You never see good leagues with our settings.

The leagues I am in just have the set starting lineup as the only roster requirement. It works out great with the owners making their own decisions about their rosters. Join a new league or keep pushing those guys
Let the owners do what they want in terms of roster, only starting lineup positions should be set in stone.
I would not play in a league with positional roster limitations, that is rookie league stuff.
I totally agree with all y'all. You can train a monkey to runa team in those kind of leagues.
It sounds like you're just a more advanced FF player than they are. I would get out and find other leagues. If they're friends or coworkers. Just keep trying, get another league while keeping this one(it won't require alot of your time). These other guys will eventually grow out of this league and want to expand it a bit.
Gotta at least have a bench spot per starting requirement.
As for limiting rosters, I've played more than my fair share of both sides. When you're limited to only having 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 4 WRs on a team, it has never seemed like a "rookie league".
What it does do is make you really value your waiver moves, evaluate trades more thoroughly, and you scrutinize your draft much more.
Call me a monkey. I think I'm a far better fantasy player for not being able to horde and bury running backs to bail me out of crappy drafts.

Only 3 leagues this year. No sense in rooting for everyone in the NFL.

yeah i'm not a fan it either.Your league has the right starting people but it'd be nice to instead of having to have frickin extra defense and kicker, to grab another WR and a RB
Another thing that makes it difficult with the set roster is we keep 6 players each year.
This makes it very difficult to find great talent in the draft, unless you know LT2 is a rookie. Other than that, we basically start drafting the "7th round" players. Not very fun when the best player available in the draft is Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett or a rookie RB.
Do you guys just limit the total number of players on a roster, like 17 roster spots? No limits on position?

That makes it worse. That really just tkes all the desision making out of who to keep and who not to. Just leave it if your not having fun man. If that's possible considering its a keeper
