Who is backing up portis??????

Postby JoeJoe » Mon Aug 25, 2003 12:50 pm

I thought that it was Mike Anderson but I saw on some cheat sheets a couple of other Denver RBs ahead of him. Does anyone know for sure who is Portis backup??

note - this comment is coming from no new information and so I may be speaking completely out of my ass...

I thought they made a fulltime move last year with Mike Anderson to Fullback, so if anyone is backing up Portis its the guy listed as the RB for the 2nd team on the Broncos website... Cecil Sapp (rookie from Colorado State)

Actually I think rookie Quentin Griffin was ready to take that role until he got hurt...I don't know for certain but Mike Anderson would be my guess...

Anderson is the fullback and right now Reuben Droughns,Quentin Griffin (R) and Cecil Sapp (R) are listed as the backups...no decision has been made yet.

Yup, Anderson would move over to the RB slot and Reuben Droughns will become the FB. Sapp and Griffin just haven't logged enough game time as it stands.
