What do you guys think about Stephen Davis?

Postby cbw2003 » Mon Aug 25, 2003 10:38 pm

He is my second back

I think the d's are going to stack the box against the offense and make carolina pass.

I see Davis getting stuck.

I've got Portis and Stacy Mack in a 2 back starter league.
Right now i am starting Portis and Davis.

I am trying to decide if i should try and trade Davis for another back.

What do you guys predict for Davis? Think i should try to let him go?

kinda depends on who you think you'd be able to swap for him. throw in a decent WR if you can spare for an upgrade.

Carolina loves Davis so far...i see 1100+ and 8 TDs..

I could see Davis having a big year. He's a big bruising back. He's had the box stacked when he was in Washington, except last year. I think he could get 12-15 tds this year. All this should hold if he can stay healthy.

I think coupled with teams stacking the line and Deshaun Faoster nipping carries from him I would try to move him before the season starts

I would keep Davis in there. I also think he'll put up some sweet numbers. He's a big back & wants to prove he's one of the elite backs!

He's a good #2 back. He's on a running team with a great defense that will create short firlds for him. 12-14TD's with 1,300 yards.

I think he'll have good year. Didn't Dee Brown get a hundred yards last year with that line. Also he has a coach that is committed to the run. I wouldn't worry about Foster at this point. I think a year from now Foster will cause problems, but not until then.

I would hold onto him for the year, and take your chances

exactly.
As also noted above - he put up very strong numbers in WAS when he was their offensive centerpiece. I see no reason for you to try and trade him. Ive even heard some people believe he will finish as a top 5-10 RB by the end of the yr.

As was stated above, Davis had plenty of great, productive years in Washington when they weren't throwing it too well. He is, in my opinion, underappreciated and underrated. You should be happy to have him as your #2.
