My last dog was a Sam, or Sammy. Coincidentally, he was the same color, and was also named by a small child. He was a Springer Spaniel though, so that's where the similarities end. Good choice though!
i dont know about the other ones, but ace has a good sound to it, i read these and that is the only one that seemed to sound good.
I think Ace is a good one, my dog's name is Ace, he is a golden retriever. Very mellow, loves people, much like your dog. We got him from GRROW (Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin), like Wisconsin's Golden Retriever Humane Society. We got him when he was like 4 or 5, his first owners ignored him and tied him up to there truck for the first 3 years, so he basically lived tied to a old Ford for 3 years until we got him.
Just a heads up, you might see another one of these, we are planning on getting another dog soon.

Very mellow and loving. Just wants to hang out with people. Still a bit sick from his ordeals in the wilderness and at the shelter. Intestinal virus from bad water when he was a stray, and respitory virus (kennel cough) from his time in the shelter. Should be an awesome dog when he's fully healthy.
The name Tyco isn't working for me, and I'm open to suggestions. Big dog, 90-100 lbs when healthy, with a great disposition.
Please, take it easy on the football related names.
And, no.... the name Gutpuppy isn't working for me. Already taken.
I had an English Mastiff named "Damnit" for a long time....
