I say give the job to Rattay this year. It looks like we are being bitten by the injury bug along the Oline already this season with Newberry possibly already gone for the year, Bass dinged up and Jennings with a broken finger. There's no sense letting this kid get his head beat in so soon. Let Rattay play, he's done a fine enough job considering. It'll be better for other player's development in the offense this year.

i was hoping that the 49ers handle smith like the giants handled manning. let rattay start for 8-10 games and bring smith in for the remainder of the season. that way next year smith will have some live action under his belt.
