Nate Burleson

Is it just me, or is anybody else down on him this year? People have been placing him just inside, or just outside of their top 10. I havent seen anybody here at the Cafe, or any other sports site rate him lower than Ashley Lelie. So when I was drafting my brothers team for him they were both the best left on the board. I just keep getting the same bad feeling every time he is around for me to draft him, and I find somebody else to take instead.

Can somebody please reassure me?

i think it's just you. burleson is a smooth-catching #1 receiver in a dome, pass-happy team. he's more cris carter than randy moss, but he still should have a very good season. between him and lilei i don't really see any sort of quandry.

I just dealt Shaun Alexander for Kevin Jones and Nate Burleson. People are already claiming it should be vetoed. I gladly accepted it. Nate is going to have a big year... Look at his game logs from the games that Randy didn't play in. That will tell you 3 things:

Daunte likes throwing to him
He can handle the #1 receiver's role
He can handle a double team and wasn't just catching Randy's coattails.

I look for 90 catches, 1300 Yards and at least 10 TD's from Nate.
I'm slowly converting over from Baseball...Very Slowly...

I see just the opposite. A lot of hype surround Nate because he's no.1 in a Moss-less Minnesota. Color me crazy, but I have him down for 900 yds and 8 TDs, and have him at the exact same value as Lelie.

If you extrapolate his performance out using only the games Moss missed last year as the baseline: 950.4 rec yards, 12.8 TDs.

I think that group of receivers around 10th overall is a good spot for him. Ok #1, great #2.

I don't know about all that...but I do know he looked pretty damned good tonight...

I may have moved him up a bit on my board.
