Hurricane Katrina

Postby GB Packer Fan 2004 » Sat Aug 27, 2005 10:14 pm

This thing is looking pretty bad right now. Most of the computer models are showing a hit near New Orleans. The city itself is under sea level. A direct hit and well the city would be under water. I heard that they may issue mandatory evacuations tom.

Just look at this thing 8-o

Right now its a Category 3 with winds of 115, but it will likely strenthen to a Cat 4. And the possibility of a Cat 5 storm is not out of the question

who here lives in that area?

Lets just say that the city had a direct hit, would be a big problem for the Saints

Maybe they'd play better underwater?

Dang...this thing is going to be a really big problem. It looks like the "cone of uncertainty" is centered right on the city. :-o

A storm that wasn't getting much public at the beginning could very well be one of the worst ever...a few people died when it went through Florida, and this could really cause major, major damage.

I hope joester and Lush are going to be ok as well as the others who live near that area. :,-(

Wow, I am glad that's going fast! My Grandma lives right on SOuth Beach in MIA. Dunno if they got hit bad, but it looked it might have passed over Miami!
Keep it lit.

It made Lanfall in Broward County in the holly-wood area and affected the Metro Miami Area. It was a Cat 1 storm when it made landfall than.. Now that its back over warm water the thing is just getting stronger..

It looks like this hurricane may cause some serious damage. Hopefully everyone in New Orleans will be okay. I heard that there is an important gas pipeline in the area, should the storm break it we could see some even larger rises in gas prices.
