I wish I had the choice of cheaper gas. Every station in town is the exact same price. As for boycotting suppliers, Ive heard this strategy before, and it is optimistic at best. Maybe we just need to turn Iraq into an American state. Im sure the rest of the world wouldnt mind.

Not to mention that every country besides the U.S. uses the metric system. Heh, but the only way it's communist is if communist is now a slang synonym for "easy and efficient."
I think this would be a great idea as it would obviously, work. Supply and demand, basic economic principles. The problem is that it's not realistic in the least. Even if all the people that have read this email actually took it's advice, it still wouldn't make any difference, considering the amount of people in the country.
But, if gas prices are really killing you, there are a few things you can do about it, like others mentioned. Public transportation, buying a hybrid car, buying a small car in general (Honda Accord, for instance), or just telling your buddy with the huge SUV to cut the crap.

About alternatives...I'd agree that a Honda or Toyota car would definitely be a better idea for you over an SUV if you're concerned about gas milage.
However, concerning hybrids, there have been multiple tests done and studies that have shown the until you drive well over 100,000 miles on the car, the difference in price between the gas and hybrid vehicles doesn't make it ecenomical to buy the hybrid; as you won't save enough money on gas to make up for the difference in price for years.
Granted, most of these studies were done when gas was around $2 a gallon, but still, even if you assume around 75000 miles it starts to pay off, that's a long time before you start seeing the benefits of buying the hybrid over gas; and you'll miss the extra power.
Personally, a $2000 motorcycle that gets 45 mpg is looking reallynice right about now.
