I'm no artist, but I think you should make the font for the players more visible.

Put a 1 pixel black stroke on the text, or a drop shadow

Download some brushes too...it looks like you just scribbled with the pencil tool or something.

Which can work sometimes, if you put radial blurs and junk on it

But for a beginner that's pretty good.

not shabby at all...but i agree you should try using some effects on the text to make it more visible. if you dont know how to do things like drop shadows and strokes, shoot me a PM and ill explain it to you.
