Brian Greise: Sleeper QB

Postby jmo » Fri Sep 02, 2005 1:29 pm

As you can see from my roster below, I was left with not many choices at QB. While scraping the bottom of the barrell I found good ole' Brian Greise. He's got acceptable game, Good tools (Clayton, Galloway, Caddie) and a defense that's going to give him decent feild position.

The downside is that god awful O-line. Hopefully with Caddie catching passes out of the backfeild, it'll keep the LB honest.

Any thoughts? Am I just rationalizing my poor QB situation?

John

I like Griese this year as well. He was real hot the last 8 games or so and looked like he managed the game well. I dont see stud numbers for him but he is a great backup qb and makes an okay starter. Like you said he has several good options but the O line will have trouble protectiing him. I think he can win games but might not be a solid fantasy option week to week.

Griese is a fine backup QB - Id definitely take him before guys like Warner, Big Ben, and Carr. Griese seems to be a really nice sleeper right now.

I had Griese for the last half of last year and he did fine. I wouldn't be mad at all about having him as my backup.

As a matter of fact, I had Palmer too and I expect both will do better this year.
