That domain is registered by an individual not a company. I would be very wary of dealing with them.

How much did I miss out on by not insuring Jeff Garcia?

Detroit QB Garcia sustains broken leg

NFL.com wire reports

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Sept. 2, 2005) -- Lions backup quarterback Jeff Garcia could miss the regular season after breaking his left leg in the team's preseason finale against Buffalo.

Coach Steve Mariucci said during halftime that X-rays revealed Garcia broke his fibula. Mariucci added that the player will have further tests Sept. 3 to determine whether he also sprained his left ankle.

Garcia was hurt at the end of a 23-yard run when he caught his left foot on the turf as he was hit across the neck by Bills cornerback Terrence McGee. Garcia, who scampered into a wide-open hole, was just beginning to slide when he was hit.

He lay on the field in pain for several minutes, but able to move his ankle as trainers attended to him. Garcia, however, was unable to put any weight on his left foot as he was helped onto a cart and driven to the team's locker room.

Garcia, a seven-year veteran who signed with Detroit as a free agent in March, started the game in place of Joey Harrington, held out because of a groin injury. Garcia was 4-of-8 for 33 yards passing and had two rushes for 29 yards before he was hurt.

Rookie fifth-round pick Dan Orlovsky took over for Garcia.

I didn't check the "insurance" site. Just a cheap post in the "Leftovers" forum. :-B

My guess is not much since

1) Jeff Garcia isn't covered
2) There's a 24 hour waiting period where they make the assessment. I'm sure they'd see he's injured and you're trying to bank on it.

Incidentally, I requested the Terms and Conditions. I got a reply that attached the "How FPP works" page and said if there were specific questions, they'd be answered. My buddy and I get the feeling that this is some guy with a clever idea that is trying to put it together as he goes (year by year).

Some guys cost like 5 bucks for the insurance.

I've wasted a lot more on virtually a lot less.

Every player on that site has the same price. Some guys just cost a third for a third of the protection. I think all they had to do was figure out the average injury probablitity and then they charge you a premium above that. Pretty genius (if it's legit and not some guy just taking all the money with no payout's).

I've done a couple google searches and found that website listed in a couple other forums, but haven't noticed anyone saying they actually used it before.

Like a previous post said...pretty minimal investment, with a decent reward. I'm embarrased to admit that I'm tempted.

look at the odds of 1 player sitting out of at least 4 games or whatever the minimum is. That's just your odds of getting your money back from the insurance.

Most insurance is a scam, like this one. It's like playing the lottery.
