bell did ok, but not enough to be a starter ... he ran against probably 2nd string cardinals defense anyhow ... dayne did ok too, and so did griffin ...

Manderson is the clear cut starter ... dont hesitate to use him either ...

yeah - it is time to at least explore some trade options from someone that needs a running back. if possible, check your schedule and see if your game against them is later in the year (week 8 or 9) - if you can trade anderson to them, maybe bell will be starting before you play them.

Don't trade him yet. Don't worry about that last game. It was 2nd teamers against 2nd teamers. Plummer, Smith, Anderson, Lelie...none of them played.

If you don't need to play him, sell him high as soon as he has a big game. You could get big value for him going to a team with weak RB in the early season as they panic to fix their team.

Here's the deal on Mike Anderson

Postby Confucian Scholars » Sat Sep 03, 2005 6:45 pm

He's going to have a splendid first 3 games, maybe even another one of those cross country runs.
Jacksonville will figure out how to stop him in week 4 and then he faces, in order; Washington, Patriots, Giants, and Eagles defenses. Ouch!
Trade him in week 3.
Want another reason?
Check out the Broncos schedule during the playoffs (weeks 14 and 15) and see who's there: Home vs. Ravens, Road at Buffalo.
Besides, who knows if Anderson will still be the starting RB in December?

Anderson will roll up numbers for the first few weeks of the season, deal around week 5. Shanahan will go through Anderson, Bell, and probably Dayne at least before decided on a main ball-carrier for the last month or so of the season as he always does.
Neil Young haunts my nightmares.

I'm thinking after the third game, KC on MNF. If all goes well against the Fins and the Bolts in weeks 1&2 his value could be enormous.
