Mike Klis, Denver Post - WR Jerry Rice sounded like a player who thinks he'll be cut after Friday night's game vs. Arizona. "I don't know what's going to happen, but if it doesn't work out, I'm OK with it," Rice said. "I came here and gave it my best shot, and if it doesn't work out, I'm sure these guys are going to do well." WR Charlie Adams and Todd Devoe had great preseasons, and Rice acknowledged that both deserve to make the team.
ESPN2 is reporting now (halftime USC-Hawaii game) that Jerry Rice has been named the #4 WR in Denver and is contemplating retirement.
I guess you know it's time to go when Darius Watts makes a better impression in camp. I still think he should have went to Atlanta, but I guess we can look forward to seeing him in the ESPN studio making fantasy picks on their live draft show next summer.
"And with the fourth pick in the draft Jerry Rice selects........ Randy Moss!"
