Steals of the Draft. most underrated.

Postby devius » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:50 am

just recently did a draft for a 10teamer and got the 8th pick. was surprised at some of the steals that seem to be common in alot of the drafts and mocks ive been in. for example in my draft

got:

Warrick Dunn at 6.03 and Micheal Bennett at 9.08

Charles Rodgers at 14.03 Eddie Kennison 10.03.

was just curious of what you guys feel are probably some of the most underrated players going much later then they should.

oh and as ref heres how my Draft went.

my pick for most underrated...Steve Mcnair....just a hunch

QB: 11.08 Jake Plummer, 8.03 Carson Palmer
RB: 1.08 Deuce McAllister, 2.03 Corey Dillion, 6.03 Warrick Dunn, 13.08 Lee Suggs, 9.08 Michael Bennett
WR: 3.08 Torry Holt, 5.08 Michael Clayton, 7.08 Chris Chambers, 10.03 Eddie Kennison, 14.03 Charles Rogers, 12.03 Keyshawn Johnson
TE: 4.03 Tony Gonzalez
K: 15.08 Ryan Longwell
DEF: 16.03 Jacksonville

Palmer before Plummer huh?

I'd say the steal of your draft is C.Rogers.

I'm going with Portis as the 24th pick, 2.12, and Mike Anderson at 11.1

I don´t know about Rogers. It´s not like he ha d a chance to show whether he can be a contributor in this league. His knack fo rgetting hurt scared me off...

I think that Tom Brady is underrated. You normally don´t get the huge games from him but he´s very solid and gets picked rather late.

Another "sleeper" is Mike Anderson. In some leagues he doesn´t even get drafted!!! He´s the starter in Denver and might very well repeat his 1500 yard perfomance. Make sure to get Bell as an insurance, though...

As far as WRs are concerned, i´m looking forward to watching McCareins. He is has some speed and is a big red-zone target. If Pennington stay healthy, he should be solid as a No 3 WR and might even turn out to be a No2 since Coles will probably draw the double coverages downfield...

At TE, I expect some good games from Wiggins and Troupe.

DEF. Redskins, Falcons, Colts and Indy could be good fantasy DEF...
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I would have to say Portis as well. I have seen him drop far too low in some drafts. I have seen him even go in Rd 4 in a respectable draft full of guys that know their stuff... at least I thought they did.

Moss fell to 3.01 in my 10 team draft.

I took Portis 2.7 after backs like Westbrook, S Jackson, C Dillon went off the board.

I liked my Last three picks in rds 13,14,15:

C Palmer
D Stallworth
W Parker

Not that I would say they were steals but tough to argue getting a starting rb in 15th rd and Palmer in the 13th.

10 team league - High performance scoring = 1 pt per reception
1 QB 2RB 2WR 1 RB/WR/TE 1 TE 1 D 1K

Qb - T Green, C Palmer
RB - P Holmes, C Portis, K Barlow, S Davis, W Parker, L Johnson
WR - T Owens, Roy Williams, R Smith, D Stallworth
TE - A Gates
K - Vanderjagt
D - Eagles

yea was probably a mistake to take palmer so high. but ive got great expectations of him. and a run on QB's kind of spooked me. i was already 3 deep at RB and WR and had Gonzo. so i didnt think it hurt me too bad.

In one of my drafts here were the steals (at least in my opinion) of the draft:

C. Palmer 11.6
M. Anderson 12.5
W. Dunn 13.6

in my draft last night Randy Moss fell to the late second round, just 1 pick before mine!!

I agree with Steve McNair being the steal of many drafts he can be had VERY late and you usually can get him as your backup qb. Go steve!!!
