Drafting strategy. Thoughts?

Here are some questions for the group?

1) Backups
QB?
TE?
K?
DEF?

2) In a Yahoo league where you start QB, 2 RB, 3WR, TE, K, DEF. How many backups for RB and WR?

This is my first year to do FF. What I have found myself doing:

1) No backups K and DEF
2) Sometimes backup up TE and QB. Depends on what is there.
3) Number 1 value look is in RB. I grab 2 strong RBs and then look for value.
4) Number 2 value look is in WR.

What I have read is that RBs get hurt and if you have a strong extra it is good for trading. I have teams where I have ended up with 6 RBs.

Well, you've pretty much summed it up! ;-D

Depending on your bench capacity, you should have at least 2 backup RB's and 2 backup WR's. You'll need a backup QB for sure. If you have another spot, there's nothing wrong with having a handcuff RB or possibly a TE if they are worth it. That's about it.

Yes, RB's are a vital commodity...but you still have to think about your other starters. If no one wants to trade with you, most of those RB's will go for nothing except better matchup starters for you. That will end up hurting your other starters.

Depends on the amount of teams. In a 12 teamer I like to get 1 backup QB, and about 3 wr and rb backups. No TE, K, DEF
