Michael Bennett is the fastest RB in the league, and probably has the best pop and acceleration too. You don't run world class olympic speed and not have good acceleration.

agility tests I found for kevin jones...

4.38 in the 40-yard dash … 360-pound bench press … 560-pound squat … 41½-inch vertical jump (school record for running backs) … 6.7 in the 60-meters … 10.2 100-meters and 21.2 200-meters … Iron Hokie Award (top performer in the weight room) winner.

seems like KJ and Bennett are fastest by stats

Michael Bennett is the fastest RB in the league bar none-this is not even a contest...Clinton Portis DOES NOT HAVE that kind of speed. Come on people!!!!!!!!!!!!

LT and Tatum Bell are 2 that come the closest

fred taylor comes to mind when i think of someone who has that home run ability. if any of you watch him you will know what I'm talking about. He can just kick it into high gear and he's gone.

If Priest happens to go down it would be LJ. Ahman can be explosive at times. Otherwise I would say LT is the most explosive followed by Jamal Lewis. They can score from anywhere on the field on any play.

Michael Vick? Muahaha I know, I'm a riot.

Not really such a joke... he's a better RB than QB by far.

As for speed AND acceleration, here's another vote for Bennett... unfortunately, it's usually toward the trainer's table.

I was playing football the other day and one of my friends who is smallish, (around 5'5 and 125) had mad acceleration. I mean after about 5 seconds a few of us could match his top speed but his acceleration was nuts. He had that breakaway gear and could change directions in a snap.

I know Kevin Jones has the breakaway gear. Who else?

I'd rank 'em this way:

1. Tatum Bell
2. Kevin Jones
3. Onterrio Smith
4. LT2
5. Your 5'5", 125 pound buddy
6. Warrick Dunn

Speaking of Onterrio Smith, what do you think the chances are he comes back next year and claims the starting spot? I know Mike Tice will make that a difficult answer (if he's still around) but I just don't see any of the current roster guys being effective this entire year and I have a chance to scoop him up sometime this year and keep him as a 12th rounder next year.

It's never too early for this type of planning. ;-D

Too bad he can't get out of 1st gear.

LT is more shifty that fast i think.
