So you're suggesting that marquee players have not only value to their team, but also the league itself. That's correct. But why then do you then go on to say;

Individual players by themselves don't siginificantly impact the size of the "pie".

You so directly contradict yourself in the length of one post that your post lacks credibility.

I don't see that I am contradicting myself. ONE player does not make or break a team financially, nor does he make or break the NFL.

That's is contradictory. You cannot defend one statement without discrediting the other. Doesn't make for a coherent point.

lol...Bottom line the score would have been about the same with Walker....GB is horrible this year. Walker wouldn't save them and to suggest he would have with the numbers put up by the offence is ridiculous. Now if we were talking about Moss and the negative effect his absence in Minny is causing now you have a valid point. Walker's absence didn't effect the numbers put up in the end. Walker doesn't play D. And he's only a WR not really one of those positions that are great game changers or season changers. The offence still moved without Walker and put up points. The D didn't do their job against a bad O.

That's is contradictory. You cannot defend one statement without discrediting the other. Doesn't make for a coherent point.

In my mind: "adversely affect" means to hurt, so when I say profits will be adversely affected, all that means is that the leagye will make less money. It does not say or imply how much money that will be.

Also in my mind: "significantly" means to a large degree. So when I say don't siginificantly impact the size of the pie, it means that while each one does contribute a little, the contribution is just that - little.

The two statements that you are focusing on can exist in the same universe and both be true. The first would imply that individual players, represented by Vick, do contribute to the size of the pie (his loss would decrease the size of the pie). The second further clarifies that statement to say that while individuals do contribute, each contribution is negligible in amount.

So if you were to make these two statements:
1: My toe hurts.
2: My toe doesn't hurt very much.
Would your words be contradicting themselves?

Also, please explain how words that I wrote can contradict themselves, but when they do, I am not contradicting myself.
