Newbie advice - 3 Chargers?

Postby LeonKnight » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:51 am

I'm new to FF. Is it good to have a lot of players from one team?

I was lucky enough to be #2 in the draft, and I ended up with Tomlinson and Gates from SD. I've also got Keenan McCardell ( who had a great week 1 with Gates out). But I don't know if it's good to have so many players from one team or not. I guess Gates and McCardell will take plays from each other, but with these 3, I've pretty much got the Chargers red zone providers tied up.

I generally try to avoid multiple players from one team but LT and Gates isn't a bad combo, but mccardel might be a reach.
I also like to get QB WR combos but only if I have a top 3 QB like manning and harrison, but this season other than those 2 seems to be a crap shoot with the exception of collins and moss.

I also try to avoid having multiple players from the same team. Actually, having and starting are two different things. If you start LT, Gates and McCardell, you better hope there are a lot of touchdowns going around. If San Diego has a bad game, so will you. Having McCardell on your bench, however, might not be bad.

Moving on, it's tough to say don't start either LT or Gates based on the argument that "it's nice not to have multiple players from the same team". LT and Gate are, to most, the best players at their respective positions. So, regarding those two: start 'em with pride. And McCardell, you may want to start another WR.

I like QB to WR or TE combo's, but I would be afraid of having all 3 people....

I'd trade McCardell while his value is high. Gates would normally have gotten probably 65% of the looks McCardell got.

Trade McCardell now.

Another problem with that many players from one team is the bye week.

Thanks Fellas - I think I'll take you up on the advice and try to trade McCardell.
