He has thus been dubbed FWP and it will certainly stick. All ideas to the contrary are mere nattering. ;-7

Wee Willie Parker just seems to flow nicer than any of the others.

But on another note, does WWP remind anyone else of Griffin from last year? Shred a horrible D and then become the Cafe darling only to be benched 2 weeks later because of poor play? This reeks of the same situation.
So they weren't the best...and may have ended the worst. SO WHAT!

Another rise in Fast Willie's stock:

Sep 15: Running back Duce Staley took more snaps during Wednesday's practice as he comes back from arthroscopic knee surgery in early August, but even once he's healthy he acknowledges he may not get his job back from Willie Parker. "If he's out there running and doing what he's doing and putting up great numbers and we're winning, without a doubt, leave him in there," Staley told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "We went through the same thing last year. I was out there, I got hurt, Jerome went in and we didn't miss a beat. Here we go again: Willie comes in and we don't miss a beat."

Views: Staley is listed as questionable for this week's game against the Texans, while Jerome Bettis is listed as doubtful with a calf injury. Steelers coach Bill Cowher indicated that Staley may become the team's third-down back when he gets healthy, leaving Parker as the feature back and Bettis, once he's healthy, as the short-yardage guy.

I think we may actually see decent yardage out of this guy all season.

Only difference between FWP and Griffon is no one drafted FWP in the 4th or 5th round like some of us did last year with griffon (OOPS).

Gotta love it when a last round pick carries you even one week.

Enjoy the ride while it lasts!

From CbsSportsline:

Ben Roethlisberger, QB PIT

News: According to reports, QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) has been downgraded to questionable. He has a bone bruise and could miss Week 2's game at Houston.

Analysis: Despite the sweet matchup, it's best to just pass on using Roethlisberger this week
