Donovan McNabb Week 2 Performance

Postby Jimboozie » Sat Sep 17, 2005 10:33 am

McNabb is going to play Sunday despite the severe chest bruise he received Monday Night. Andy Reid obviously does not want McNabb to run unless it is absolutely necessary. So, what kind of effect will his injury have on his performance??
Will TOs and Westbrooks numbers take a hit??

Depends how much pressure he's under. Given time to throw, he'll put up great numbers, TO and Westbrook will have good days. I think Westbrook will be least effected in general though by McNabb's running ability being limited.

This appears to be similar to, if not the exact same, injury
Steve McNair suffered thru last year.
And it was a big deal.
If you've ever hurt your back, you never realized how much you use it until it's hurt.
Nobody (including me) has access to the "real", medical nature of McNabb's injury.
But a QB with a chest injury has a serious problem, IMO.
And if similar to McNair's, he will be in pain and limited for weeks.

So true, I must of pulled a lower back muscle over the summer. Getting in and out of a car took a tremendous amount of work!

That and turning around in bed was near impossible.

as soon as he got hit and came out. I said "here we go McNair part II" which doesn't make a lot of sense, but i was a little excited so forgive me. Does seem a lot like mcnairs injury though.

McNair had a fractured sternum, McNabb has a bruised chest (at least that's what they're calling it). Now none of us no for sure how bad it is, but I do know last year Brian Westbrook had a bruised chest mid-season and it only kept him out 1 game.

yes, eventually it was seen as a fractured sternum, but it began as a bruised chest or something equally cryptic. It could go either way I think, a nothing, or a serious problem.
